Grenada

This rather quaint archway marks the entrance to the construction site for Grenada's new National Stadium in Queen's Park, which is being built with funding, expertise and manpower provided by the People's Republic of China. With 500-plus construction workers from China living and working on the site, the area has virtually been transformed into a Chinese village, complete with garden.

One thing that struck me on my visit there earlier this week was the fact that while all of the Chinese workers wore hard hats, soft canvas shoes seemed to be acceptable as worksite footwear. When I made the observation to the Grenadian project manager, he replied that "that's their culture." According to the project manager, the Chinese workers take daily post-lunch siestas and don't drink cold water. "Only hot water and tea," he said, which would explain the ubiquitous khaki-coloured canteens.

The construction is a national stadium that is being funded by China and built by a 500+ Chinese work force. Chinese are the largest population on the earth. There are many Overseas Chinese (華僑 in Pinyin) all over the world. In the US, Chinese were brought to San Francisco as workers for railroad constraction, too. but this Grenada story supprised me so much. The Grenada public constraction project of new National Stadium, is taken by People’s Republic of China and Chinese workers. Chinese like to migrate everywhere in the world, connect very strongly within their own, and make profit. They are not just workers like 19 centuries railroad constraction. This fact gives Grenada very strong impact. Citizens of Grenada should manage and operate their national project. This should be your project, your facilities, and your business, isn’t it?

This, I find to be, scary… Anyone asking the simple question? What is the motive behind this?? They just want to be nice? I don’t think so. This is not for Grenada this is for China. China has in inferiority complex and the only way to cure it for them is global domination. They are the teenager of the world. Adults don’t act like that.

Well to all those who think China has a motive, then they are right. I don’t know the motive was, perhaps good, perhaps bad. Then again, look at the US, Britan, like they really topple governemnts and cause regime change/give away free things for no reason?

We all now know Iraq was an oil grab, people are saying something, I guess, but people are still dying and Iraq is no better than it was before. The chinese are BUILDING the others are DESTROYING! Get it. At least China is not disguising bad intentions with a facade of spreading freedom. It’s plain to see poster Tom is a redneck right-winger.

For those who don’t know what China’s motive is: to get a vote against Taiwan. It’s classic but works well.
