First of all, many many thanks to the cut & clear team for putting together this series. It was a fun and fascinating intro to contemporary carnival in T&T for those of us outside the country/region and hopefully it will serve as useful resource/reminder for future generations who take the rein of the ritual.

Speaking of those future generations, I'm glad the women got a much-deserved chance to make their voices heard, but, representing my own demographic, when are we going to hear from the youth? The second half of this podcast was all about how the youth need to be included in the conversations about the future of carnival, how the baton needs to be passed. I know time is always tight, but I'd love to hear from more young people about their thoughts regarding the current state and future of carnival.

Or maybe I should come down myself next year and do a little podcasting myself (not to mention practice my daggering ... I kid, I kid ... and I'll refrain from my tome-length pseudo-intellectual analysis of daggering, freaking, perreo and the youtubization of sexuality.)
