Reversing brain drain

Where would CFR be without my talented pals? As this blog languished last week thanks to the less than desirable internet access situation at a certain hotel in Jamaica, BBC Caribbean was interviewing my dear friend (and fellow Emory alumnus) Barry Bhola about his decision to return to Trinidad. I’m sure they won’t mind that I’ve posted the interview here on CFR.

Welcome home, Barracuda!

  • Nice to see people returning home to contribute to share their brain :) I myself made that decision. Wasn’t too hard since I love life in T&T, barring some irritations.

However, I also understand those who decide to remain abroad. We need to create jobs that will not only offer competitive salaries, but also offer a scope of work that will allow graduates to apply what they’ve learned and work at a strategic level. For e.g., I’m on the jobhunt, but when one applies these criteria, somehow it trims the options for a job in corporate communication. That, and being a young professional in agecentric T&T.
