The “I Love Soca Warriors” e-mails have begun trickling in (so far it looks like we’ll have London, Cambridge (England), Atlanta and Washington DC in the house), so the T&T v. Peru Skypecast is happening. I’ve set things up on Skype, so if you visit the Skypecasts page and do a search for “Trinidad”, or scroll down to shows for May 10, you should see it on the list looking something like this:

As start time approaches, our Skypecast should appear in the “On now” section, bearing a “Sign in to join” link as in the image below:

Fire up your Skype, click on the “Sign in to join” link, and you’ll have joined the Skypecast.
I’ve had to break the broadcast into two parts, as Skypecasts top out at 2 hours. Part 1 will start at 6:15pm Trinidad time (GMT -4). Skypecasts appear in the Skypecast public directory so are open to anyone who wishes to join, so if you wish to secure a spot (a maximum of 100 people can be accomodated) please make sure and join the Skypecast at start time or thereabouts, even if you don’t intend to start listening until the match actually starts at 6:30pm. I’m hoping, however, that folks will join in the pre-game lime (Skypecasts allow both text and voice chat, I believe), so organise your snacks and schedule your bathroom visits before 6:15pm if possible.
I have Part 2 scheduled to begin at 7:30pm Trinidad time as Skypecasts can only be scheduled to start on the quarter-hour intervals. I’m hoping this won’t cut off the beginning of the second-half broadcast, but this also means you need to make sure and join Part 2 as well once the “Sign in to join” button for that Skypecast goes live. Please note as well that I take no responsibility for Trinidad and Tobago’s silly radio commercials!
I’ll post more details here if and when I have them. If you plan on tuning in, drop me an email at caribbeanfreeradio[at]gmail[dot]com letting me know where you’ll be connecting from. Talk to you on Wednesday!
