More on the bomb blast #8

Posted by Georgia on October 14, 2005 at 10:07 pm.

Naturally, the opposition seizes the opportunity to engage in some politicking. Newly elected Political Leader of the United National Congress, Winston Dookeran, just called into Gayelle to say he is “shocked and appalled” that this situation has been allowed to continue in the country and that the current government’s efforts to deal with have been ineffectual.

One of the weirdest things about this experience, however, is the juxtaposition of these news reports with jaunty television advertisements which put forward a vision of the country completely at odds with the reality this incident represents . . . .

Gayelle has just ended its coverage (10:05pm).

I understand that Shelly Dass is under some pressure (which she’s mostly handling with grace) – but someone needs to correct her as to delineations of time. 7:30 pm should not be referred to as “this afternoon”, but as “tonight” or “this evening”.

Not that I’ve heard. CNC is now signing off (at 10:33pm).

In other news, one of my sources is telling me two Jamaat-al-Muslimeen members were held.
