Hello, Dev. Yes, the Guardian updated it's website but it makes no sense pointing people to the Guardian since they do not maintain archives that can be dependably linked to.

Perhaps M. Tikasingh can use this for leverage.

Re: newspaper coverage of the explosion ; The Trinidad Guardian updated its website about the explosion around 3pm with a second update at 3:26 pm. The text simply read :

"An explosion this afternoon shut down activities in downtown Port-of-Spain. Early reports say the blast originated from a garbage can on Frederick Street near Queen Street. Six people are reported injured.

Update 3:26pm: At least one person reported dead in the aftermath of the explosion in downtown Port of Spain"

The Trinidad Express updated its website sometime between 4pm and 5pm and included a streaming
video clip from TV6.

Christopher Yee Mon, a Trinidad native who posts on Subway Chronicles from New York, has begun a Flickr group to keep track of images related to the blast. Sirius, who was only blocks away from the bomb site at the time of the explosion, reports today that “there were also bomb threats yesterday at Trincity Mall and the Ministry of National Security.” He adds that several more bomb threats have come today and that the FBI is apparently helping in the investigations.
Hey Georgia,

Early morning in South Africa. Your getting the explosion story up and online helps to make me less depressed! I heard about the explosion in almost realtime because I was on the phone with UWI talking about marking papers for an online course. What follows was about 2 -3 hrs of searching for more information on the Internet ( international, regional and local). By the time I gave up at about 12 midnight SA time, the local sites and mailing lists had very little information and it was not posted on any of the international sites. It will be interesting to see whether computer based electronic media plays a role in the response to this incident. I can only imagine that the radio/TV will be alive and buzzing.

keep the news and views coming!
