Seems new podcasts have been added to iTunes, because I just did a search in the podcast directory for the word “caribbean”, and for the first time got a result. The result, however, was Dead Pirates’ Society, a podcast of far more recent vintage than CFR.
Can anyone blame me for feeling a bit just a bit paranoid?
UPDATE – 8:49pm: Minutes after posting this I did another search for “caribbean” in the iTunes directory just to make sure I wasn’t being too paranoid. Now Dead Pirates’ Society is no longer coming up, though they are still listed in the directory. So it’s either that DPS removed the keyword “caribbean” from their feed within the last few minutes, or Apple is screwing around with something as we speak. Or I could simply be going insane. . . . Which do you think? Email me with your votes.
And speaking of votes, it’s a new month, so the votes return to zero at Podcast Alley. I’ve now made it even easier by putting a direct voting link in the sidebar–just enter your e-mail address and hit the button.
UPDATE – 8:56pm: Oh, oh, now DPS is back. . . .

I don’t have anything useful to add other than checking to see if you are listed in iTunes every 3 minutes just seems a bit…well, you know.
If you have seen Dave’s posts about iTunes and its hammering of people’s servers and bandwidth, you might not want to be listed.
Well, obviously you want to be listed, I mean to say that maybe it won’t be the blessing you hope for.
Uh, folks–hope you realise this post was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. I don’t really check obsessively on iTunes every 3 mintues. (Does my sense of humour really transmit that poorly?)
The reason I’d like CFR to be listed on iTunes is to further my mission of gaining maximum exposure for the artists I play and for things Caribbean in general. We live in a region that people know very little about–and CFR is my small contribution to changing that.
PS I also host with libsyn.com, which offers unmetered bandwidth, so I’m prepared. . . .
I tried voting usinng my 6 email accounts, but then I got a message saying that I already voted this month. How does Podcast alley know that it is the same person voting?
Go Figure.
And by the way what is URI? [located below Name & Email on this 'leave a comment' form]
Hey you, what do you think this is — the state of Florida?
We at CFR do not condone voter padding, election rigging or any other illegal practice designed to boost this podcast’s popularity on Podcast Alley or elsewhere. We happen to be based in a respectable Caribbean nation known for holding free and fair elections, and we intend to keep it that way. So please keep your dirty practices to yourself.
PS What do you do with 6 email accounts?
Someone with 6 e-mail accounts deal with spam. Alot, I’m guessing.
An “URI” is a “URL” which is a web address like http://www.caribbeanfreeradio.com.
hey! I have 8 email addresses and I don’t deal with spam. I have for personal, business and junk, and they multiply when I migrate to a better email service. Now I have one local telecom email, 3 hotmails, 2 yahoos and 2 gmails.
By the way, georgia, I’m not getting your online player working. It keeps displaying a message ‘NaN% loaded’ in the progress bar. Anyone else experiencing that problem?
I got the same thing when i nwent onto the online player. It said NaN%. I think you have to choose an episode for it to play then it will started. I just clicked on the most recent podcast and it started playing.
Hi Folks,
I’ve checked the online player and everything seems to be okay on this end, though libsyn.com, where I host my files, seems to be having a few hiccups lately, which may result in the audio files occasionally being inaccessible.
Lunzie, maybe you could let me know which files in particular have given you trouble and I can double-check to see if the URLs in my player playlist are correct.
A.OK, now. Even though clicking on each file in the playlist still flashes a ‘NaN%’ before loading the file. Small thing though.
